Went and got the 73 Chevy, runs good, the electricals are teootally scrod, but it ran for 30 miles at 50, and didn't smoke or overheat... $200.00

This is the new motor for the Frankenwagen...

Picture #1 is Darryl at the wheel, and #2 is the electrics... Have to smash the battery cable against the terminal and hold your mouth like *this* to start it, but there you are....

Next victim....

Went and got a driveshaft but it was the wrong one... Have to go back and get the pedal cluster tomorrow, so no biggie. The trans was the wrong one, it had a computer, so that's on hold.. Tried to move the Frankenwagen, but it wouldn't start. I think the fuel pump finally completely died, i hope..

About to buy a new long block, but not for a while.. Still waiting for the machine shop to finish my block, been months..

Now there is a rumor of a 73 chevy with running motor cheap..

Pictures...#1, the gauges in the bondo bucket, Jason ran the motor for an hour, no problems..

and Jason scored a Mercedes Diesel for his fork lift yard truck so that is back on deck again..

That used to be the bed on the Purple Thing, then it was a work bench... It is so heavy i had to jack it up and drive the truck out from under it.

Now i need to move it, and cut it down to fit it's new home... I could barely turn it over by myself.. There it sits, cut down and reassembled, waiting on a few strong young guys to move it..

I figured out i could put a car port on the slab under that pile of scrap steel and save a few grand... It's a pretty rough slab, just the leftovers from the shop floor, but better than gravel..

Got the big casters on the Cherry Picker.. Works.. The 300 sounds great, now to go find bits to make it work... Tomorrow, pedal cluster and drive shaft..

I haven't seen it yet, but Jason reports that the 300 in the bondo bucket is running and sounds good.. or sound... cool... now for linkages, body mounts, drive-shaft and some brakes...Supposed to have another money list for me tomorrow..

If that engine block is not back this week, i am going to buy one..
