I had about a quart of Rustoleum Hunter Green left from the '64 Chevy Truck Project, so i bought a quart of white and mixed them up, and produced perfect High School Bathroom Green.
This will do for a Franken-theme Green..
Spent the morning slapping up doorskin to cover the real rough spots, built a bin under the rear window to hold the lug wrench and things, and caulked all the cracks. "If it's under three inches, caulk it"
The four holes you see are for the speakers. I'll run all of them on one side of the fader and then run the 15" on the other side.
Then shoveled the paint on. I am the world's worse painter. But this is officially finished. I need to figure out the ceiling, but i might just Liquid Nails some foam board up there.
I framed around the triangular window, but left a hole to get to the window winder mechanism... It jams up, so i need to get to that and fix it, and then build something to cover that spring thing.
Later; Hoses hooked up, no deluge... Back to working on guitars..

Nice day today, so i took a few hours off, and got a few things done.
Pulled the steering box and the shaft. Now i can take the steering lock to the locksmith and have a key made.
Pulled the front splash plate. Cut the body bolts off, removed the remnants of the running boards, and pulled out the floor plates, or what was left of them from around the shifter and pedals.
Body is now loose. As soon as i pull the shifter and cut off the running board supports, i will jack up the body and slide it back on the frame and pull the engine.
Then the fun will start.

All this stuff looks so easy on the other journals... I suppose knowing what you are doing makes a difference, don't it?
Had to cuss out another cotter pin to get the brake shoes off. But at least i didn't bugger up the threads on the axle. And the axle actually turns, so that is real good.
When i get back from a visit to my famous daughter (Elizabeth Bear, the Science Fiction writer[ plug] in Yankee land), i will rent or buy a cherry picker and pull the flat head. It says here.

Made a Hugantous wheel puller out of a ford wheel and the protector bell from an oxygen tank. The screw is 3/4 all thread.
Whee, it worked.. At least on on one side. I had to cuss the cotter pin out of the other side, so i didnt get that one loose today.
But...
And i also got the steering wheel off, but can't figure out how the shaft comes out of the steering box... If anybody wants to have mercy on a fool, please write wishnevs@bellsouth.net
This is a '47 Ford truck.. Or was..
Look at all the crud that was in that brake drum

Found a wire that shorted out and evicted that gremlin, the one in the Doodlebug left on his own.
So the dash is sort of done, the ammeter is not working, and i forgot an indicator for the turn signals. And the horn is still not right, but that close enough for the time being...
Temperature gauge, Oil Pressure, Speedometer, dash lights, wiper, all those work... for a while..
Next adventure, the radio..
