This mess is a 70 Opel Wagon... It is supposed to run...check out the poison ivy growing inside... Something you dont see every day. I got this and a 86 subaru wagon for 150.00 in towing charges... I really want to cut the Opel in half and put a hemi in it, but i think it will become an econobug parts getter... carry on........

The Ranchero. Pulled the old seat, to put on eBay, and some hideous orange shag carpet, underneath which i found some holes.. .. I swapped up the new tailgate, which is in pretty good shape, with trim and all... I have all the trim for the bed,, and all that looks good enough.. I got a floorshift style collar for the steering clolumn on eBay and bought a timing belt, pullies and gaskets..

Tomorrow, off to pickup Project #6

Project #4, Bondo Bucket; Got the two outsides roughed in, and sort of smooth.. Dread crawling inside to sand the door panels.. Next time metal for sure.. Experience is a hard school...

Project #3, the 66, welded some more scabs on the floor, and the firewall.. what a pile of rust.. this side is done, so now either the front clip or the other floor... I have to do something about the body mounts too, they are almost gone.. I may weld the cab extension., and then jack the whole body up and fix the body mounts..bass ackwards, but i have to move this thing to make room for the Falcon, and i will have to mount the rear of the body, in any case... I have decided to pull the gas tank and dump it.. I have a wide hydralic tank at the welder's down the street to make into a gas tank.. And the welder can do a certified job..

Project #5, The Falcon Ranchero.. Bought more trim, and a tailgate from ebay, about 300.00, and bought the gaskets and points and stuff so Jason can start on dropping the engine in...

I guess they will never get the old journal back up , so here is an old picture of the first mockup of the Bondo Bucket, Project #4..Note the high dollar billet grill... it's imported. Today i did more skim coating and sanding off...about a hundred bucks worth of bondo washing down the driveway.

In other news, spent a few hundred on trim parts for the 61 Ranchero, and Jason has a parts list for the engine swap.

I went and interviewed two new canidates for projects #6 and #7... one was buried in poison ivy, even had poison ivy growing inside... The other is pretty rusted out... It might make a fixer-uper-and-seller... more later.. Thinking about a gas miser car of some sort... The Toyota doodle bug (picture 2) gets about 30 mpg, but i could do better...Jason is seriously into making grease diesels, and its a shame to waste all that enthusiasm

Picture #1 Spent an hour or two welding up the floor of the 66. The hole under the Brake pedal was where the last owner had pounded a hole to run a rod so that he could shift the automatic with the clutch pedal...I can just hear the next guy who works on this thing...grump, grump, grump... But it was a $25.00 parts truck, so tough. The object is to keep my feet from poking through the floor.. it ought to work.. I have to wait to do the rockers until i'm ready to extend the cab...i might have to register this POC soon.. the Doodle bug has oil problems..

Picture #2 And the guy came and took the trailer awy... Bye-bye nice trailer..

And skim coated a little more of the Bondo Bucket... discovered glazing putty, and that seems to work on the pinholes... I'm gonna have to epoxy the whole body to hold all this filler on...
