07-27-2010 07:07 PM Sleeves Con't...
I got the sleeves rough polished.

The last pic shows the grip pattern of the press in lowers.

07-18-2010 04:38 PM Ball Joint Sleeves
I started getting the ball joint sleeves ready for the upper and lower control arms.

The uppers accept a screw in balljoint. I got some steel threaded aftermarket sleeves and wrapped them in stainless steel pipe and welded them up.

The lowers will use a press in balljoint. The welded sleeve in the last pic is made of two pieces of stainless pipe.

07-14-2010 02:36 PM Steering Mockup

I strapped the fattest tire I have to the tranny jack to see if it could fit and turn in the wheel well and it seems to just clear according to my calculations using the turn radius.

The center of the rim should move 3-1/2" forward or rearward as the steering turns.

This should give 1/2" clearance at full turn.
I don't see a problem with this as I don't often drive too fast at full lock.

06-12-2010 07:16 AM Control Arms Done
I got the two lower arms pretty much done except for some polishing.

Coilover to upper control arm clearance is about 5/8".
Should be fine.

Sway bar mount brackets look OK. I just have to throw the pumpkin in and set up the sway bar mounts to verify.

06-05-2010 09:19 AM Ripped Apart And Redone
I dismantled the arm and flipped it allowing it to come further forward of the spindle.
This gave good coilover clearance at the upper control arm.

I got one welded up and polished less the coilover and sway bar mounts.
