04-01-2010 04:30 AM Stainless Steel Frame Begins
I got a hold of 2 pieces of 4" square .100" wall stainless tube for the main rails.

Got them cut and welded together.
I used a piece of 2x4 x .120 wall across the back for where the rails have to join up to cross over the 04 Cobra IRS.

03-29-2010 05:41 PM Ball Joint Holders Done
I finally got my tapered reamer.
It was held up in customs for 9 days.

My machinist buddy ran the reamer thru and they came out very close to being identical.

I had to grind a sliver of material off one bolt head to tighten the ball joint nut and the other side just clears.

Got the other side done up and polished up.

Don't know if that's a good name for them but I definitely need to make up something to get the control arms attached.

Pic 1: Two pieces roughed out and tacked together. In the background are two pieces that I started with. 1/2" x 2-1/2" hot rolled flat bar bent to shape.

Pic 2: Pieces taken apart and chamfered ready to weld.

Pic 3: Welded and cleaned up.
