05-04-2009 04:18 AM Driver's Side "Reverse"
I pounded out the driver's side reverse at the meet also.
This one I did differently as I got some advice from one of the MetalMeet guys after I did the last one.
He told me to stretch the edges evenly over a 3 or 4" diameter hole in the stump.
He also mentioned using a smaller tipped hammer. I made one up out of an oak stair newel post.
I did these two things and was it ever quicker than beating it on a bag.

05-04-2009 04:11 AM Driver's Side Pcs

I went down to the Southern Ontario Regional MetalMeet 2 weeks ago and finally got some more done.

2 more pieces for the top of the fender.

Alot of touching up to do but getting somewhere after 3 months of doing nothing on the car.

A few pics of the almost finished piece.
I got no more juice left for banging away today.

01-02-2009 12:49 PM Forming a "Reverse"
A reverse in metal shaping is a piece that curves in both directions like a potato chip.
It was a little more complicated as it required a ton of stretching.
I laid the pattern down and found all the lumps. I saw this method used on MetalMeet.com.
I marked those out on the panel and beat away on it.
