It's a roller! I hung all the front and rear suspension last night so for the first time the chassis is on it's updated suspension. Next I'll install the engine and transmission.
This weekend the boxing of the frame was completed. Engine mounts, transmission mounts and one main cross member were finish welded. Next I'll hang the suspension and get some tires on it to make it a roller.
I tack welded the engine and transmission mounts last night. I also tacked in a cross member above the transmission. All will be tig welded in a little later.
Over this past weekend I made some brackets to mount on the front of the engine. This allowed me to shim it to get the right height and angle. Now I can cut some patterns to locate the permanent mounts. I used an old milk crate and some wood to get the transmission in the right place. Now I can fit a couple of cross members and the trans mount.
This past weekend we put the body back on the frame. The doors are just held in place for now as I haven't finished replacing the wood with steel yet. We placed the engine between the frame rails to see approximately how it would fit. I'll make some brackets to hold it in place while we fit the engine and trans mounts in.
