Backing up a bit ..screwie I know but I don't follow orders well. Some pictures of the build as it unfolded. Had front suspension problems during shake down on the car.
Heidt's suspension designed for a low ride height and it steers like sports car. This is good, but I experienced tire rub during moderate cornering. My tires may be too tall or the front springs too soft. Adjusting the spring up not an option as I lost considerable travel and problem not solved. Got heavier springs from Heidt's and problem is somewhat corrected but still have tire rubbing inner fender supports. So I have bought 14 rims to replace the 15's on the front. Fronts are now 205-60 at 24.69" high. Didn't want to go to lower aspect ratio tires and get that low .Going to 195-60-14 at 23.21" high. Hope the 1.48" makes a difference. Finding an onshore supplier for this tire size is my next challenge. I hate to mix tires so rears may go as well! Heck it's only money right!

By the way took a second place trophy(dust collector) in my class. First place winner was one of the cars carted in. It was an absolutely incredible 34 glass car done extremely well that some one spent buckets of $$$ on. Good for them, job well done!
At least mine is all steel, born in Detroit, Mi. and raised in the USA. Built to drive and not to be trailered. That's the way it was always meant to be!

I got talked into entering the car in an early spring cars show at the local convention center. Lots of trailer delivered cars. Many were high end "rod shop" owned cars. Trailer queens if you will. "Drove" my car to the show and cleaned the bugs off while all the other car owners were setting up displays. Had lots of fun and met plenty of good people. Had many positive comments and no one could believe I owned the car for over 47 years. Think my oldest son and my wife were the most proud of how it turned out.

Still tweaking the car and making small changes. Changed the interior window and door cranks to Billet Specialty. Much better product and superior performance. Still have some suspension /ride adjustments to do. Now have all the Auto-Meter guages working now that the speedometer has been calibrated. Great co. to work with and the Tech support is unrivaled!
Driving the car every chance we get. Have to remind myself that I am not 20 yrs old anymore and back off the go peddle. Despite it only being a small block, the 235-15 BF Goodrich tires want to howl at times..... Loving every minute of it!
