Worked on the fuel lines today front to back. AN-8 from the tank to the engine and then branched off with AN-6 to the carbs.

05-07-2013 07:54 PM 1930u- Mounting the fuel pump and filter
Over the weekend I did a road trip to Summit Racing and Jegs to pick up more parts. I needed gauges and many other parts and also bought my fuel pump and filter. I originally thought about mounting the fuel pump on a panel in the rumble compartment but really hated the thoughts of having in the car. Instead I installed the pump and the fuel filter on the right frame rail near the middle of the passenger door. I have bought many parts online but the gauges I wanted to see, touch and compare. Iím not going to use a speedo and Jegs by far had the best selection. I really like the old Stewart Warner look but wanted all electric gauges. I picked an old school looking set from Auto MeterÖdefinitely has the late 60ís early 70ís look and thatís my theme.

04-28-2013 08:59 PM 1930u Gas Tank all done
Today I installed the gas tank. It's a Tanks inc. 16 gallon universal unit. I made a couple of L brackets and welded them to my home made x-member. On the final build I will insulate all the tank mounting points with rubber or other suitable material.

I used all the factory tank mounting holes and then sandwiched the tank mounting flanges between my brackets and a gusset. I figured this would be stronger than just washers under the nuts. I also added a couple of mounting straps on the top to stop fore and aft movement too.

04-28-2013 08:34 PM 1930u Ohio Mile 69 Camaro
Saturday I took a break on the Hot Rod and drove the old Camaro to Wilmington, Ohio for the land speed trials. Lot's of cool cars and many joined the 200 MPH club. A great event and a perfect day. Back on the Plymouth on Sunday. I felt honored to be in the company of the Red Horse but to be honest ...I like my Chevy.

04-20-2013 08:09 PM 1930u- Brake/Clutch Contraption and Plumbing
Today I finished the hydraulic clutch and all the brake system plumbing. I am happy to report both systems work perfectly and I didn't have one leak to deal with. I am a very happy home Hot Rod builder. In the pictures you can see the right angle mounting set up, Corvette master cylinder and the clutch master cylinder. I also added a mounting feature which permits me to adjust the brake/clutch pedals fore/aft almost 6 inches and also up and down 6 inches.

I absolutely love the way this turned out. This was my first experience using AN fittings and I was surprised how easy they made the plumbing work.
