08-13-2013 08:46 PM 1930u- Turn signal switch
I wanted to install the turn signal switch over the weekend but I misplaced the one I bought and never did find it. Then I started thinking about just using a toggle switch but after thinking about it more, I bought another universal switch and installed it tonight. I really don't like the way universal switches look but I installed it behind my column drop and it really looks cool. I also juiced up the the whole electrical system by attaching my battery charger to the cable leads. I set it on 5 amps and tested everything I've wired to date. I have some old trailer lights that I used to test the turn signals and brake lights and all worked perfectly.

08-12-2013 08:39 PM 1930u- Making the battery cables
I used 2/0 (00) welding cable rated at 600 volt, 1,248 strands of 30 awg .671 inch diameter bare copper to make the battery cables. The ground cable terminates at the common ground point at the bell housing. The lugs have 3/8 bolt holes and are soldered to the cable. The battery will be located in the rumble trunk.

A little more progress tonight. Ignition switch and neutral safety switch complete and started on the headlight switch.

08-07-2013 08:10 PM 1930u- Instrument wiring
Tonight I finished wiring the dash harness. I used a spiral wire loom to bundle up all the wires. I checked continuity on each and every wire. I expect this car will ride like an old John Deere tractor so I'm bundling and securing the harnesses with hopes all will stay together out on the road.

I also attached the solenoid wire to the ignition switch which will run to the neutral safety switch then to the starter. The ignition resistor wire is also on the switch. I will connect the accessory wire and battery hot wire when the dash is in the car as those wires feed out of the main fuse panel.

The tach harness will be stand alone.

08-06-2013 07:31 PM 1930u- Bench testing the relays and circuits
Tonight with the help of my lovely assistant I tested the fuel pump, cooling fan and water pump relays and circuits. I used my battery charger to power up the panel and a simple test light to confirm power through the relays and wiring. Everything worked perfectly and the panel is now mounted to the fire wall.
