After the vacuum I ran the surface with alcohol to remove any last strays of dust. Let it dry and fired up the Eastwoods. Used a can and three quarters - just enough left for touch up later.

Here's the make shift paint booth. This is where that whole paint thing I mentioned awhile back would have been easier and cleaner done all at once, but ya gotta do what ya gotta do. Danielle jumps in with a hand at the vacuum as I sand her clean removing layers of paint and dirt. I then removed all the brittle seam sealer and relaced it with a fresh coat from Eastwood's line. Wear a mask with this stuff or you'll be asleep in no time - no joke!

With the front clip off the car, I'll clean up and prep the firewall for fresh coats of Eastwood's underhood black paint. The TCI Mustang II clip and other parts are at the powder coaters for a fresh coat of Vulcan Black (a satin/semi-gloss). I wish I had a welder to patch up some of unnecessary holes made in the firewall. I made do with some aluminum sheeting that I punch-cut to patch some bigger holes and then riveted the patch pieces in place for a clean look alternative to welding.

06-10-2007 11:20 PM Getting Clipped
After getting all the remaing bolts off the front end and getting my jack in line I was ready to wheel of the front clip. I took a few parts off to peddle on Ebay and the rest will make it's way to the recycler.

We'll I thought I had it all covered but forgot to drain my tranny fluid, but it didn't take long for that old powerglide to give me quick reminder as she pissed fluid all over the floor of my garage when the yoke came out of the tail shaft. Arrrg! - I got a pan in on the flash but still got a bit messy. I left the old sixer hangin on the picker as I figured I'd get her sold and put her on craigs list instead of storing her - When I'm done, the sixer won't be going back in - in the 3rd pic off to the left you can see a nice lil cherry bomb wrapped up in plastic, her young blood replacement - a healthy Smeding Crate 350 appropriately named the Magnum. We'll talk more about Smedings Candy but don't want to get ahead of myself.
