Fitted the rails with some cross members.I didn't go the traditional way here.
I plan to weld the floorboards between these tubes.You can also see now that the drive shaft goes above the cross members and through the cockpit...(a nice way to scare potential passengers)

I finaly found some 17 inch steel wheels for my rod.
You have no idea how hard is was to find these...
I still need to narrow them and change the offset

I've rised the side-panels of the cowl 3 centimetres.This way
the cowl sits nicely onto the frame.There was also a nasty cut in the firewall,that's fixed now

To line the cowl, I will take the position of the doors as a startingpoint.Made shore that their nicely leveled.Now I can draw a line on the frame where the cowl must come.Pic three shows that I'll have to chanel the cowl a bit to let it meet the bottom of the doors.Perhaps you've already noticed that the frame rails are wider than the front of the cowl.I've did this on purpose,this way I
have more room for my pedals (and feet,ofcourse)

I took some time today to look a little closer to my cowl. That's quiet inventive thinking what those designers did back then.
It may seem strange to you but this is the first '31 cowl I've seen
in the flesh (so to speack).I've mentioned earlier that there's not much of a hot rod scene around here.There fore most of what I've seen comes out of mags and the internet...What's this on the first picture?Looks like a looking glass to me to check if there's gas in the fueltank.Am I right?
Anyway,time to start lining the thing out.
