07-19-2008 09:43 AM engine mounts
I've placed the engine inside the frame so I can line it properly.
This will alow me to create the engine mounts left and right from the engineblock. Note that I do this "old-school" to prove that you don't need cutting edge lazers or nano-inch tools to pull this of correctly...
Third pic is no longer correct: It was brought to my attention that I should level the base of my manifold,NOT my valvecovers!
Thanks for this info

07-14-2008 01:12 PM next: the grille insert
To place the grille insert onto the frame I've made a slot-system.
On either side of the radiator I've welded a strip, these strips fit exactly in the two slots witch are located left and right inside of the grille insert.

07-14-2008 12:59 PM the radiator
Took an hour to clean the "Fiat" radiator,Removerd what was left of the original grille insert and cleaned the rest with a steel brush.
I placed the radiator as low as I could on the frame.

07-07-2008 01:39 PM remodeling the front rails
the left-side is ready. Flatened it out a bit on top. I've also made extra room for the grill insert between the rails. This way the grill insert sits free from the frame rails. Last picture shows a pair of coil overs I plan to use in the back. Originaly intended for Beetles and buggys but they work as well in the back of my car. Nice detail is that these come at one third of the price you pay for a "normal" set of hot rod coil overs!
