02-25-2010 08:09 PM A couple of new holes in the frame
I also made a new hole in each frame rail.I got a couple of thru frame fittings for the front brakes.I installed them for fitting and made sure the lines where long enough to work.

02-25-2010 08:05 PM My solution.....
Building this truck from left over parts,I grabbed an old header from the stash, and cut it apart.I spent a litle time trying to piece the tube around the steering, and this is where I ended up.....just taped together for fitting,I think its going to work.I can get the steering shaft in and out,the spark plugs still hace good access as well as the header bolts.

02-25-2010 08:01 PM Small exhaust problem....
Im running a set of headers from a '67 corvette.I figured I would have to do some modifing to get the steering to clear.....I was right. The only real major modification is going to be to the front header tube,The steering shaft runs right thru the middle of it.I cut out the offensive section and decided how to solve the problem..........

02-25-2010 07:57 PM Steering box
The box is in a pretty good position,(in my opinion). The steering rod has a nice relatively staight shot up to the column. The u-joints are in a good position also,no real binding problems I can see.

02-25-2010 07:52 PM Mounting the steering box
With the frame boxed in,I needed to locate the vega box on the frame.I drilled holes thru both sides and welded tubing in for the bolts to pass through.I ground the weld on the out side of the frame but left the tubeing on the inside to act as spacers so the box will tighten down evenly.
