I got my wiring harness the other day.All the wires run out of the bottom of the fuse box as it mounts in the truck. Im mounting it in the kick panel area on the drivers side, and need for the column and dash wires to go up.I made a simple bracket for the box to mount to,(the back part of the box is shown in the pictures).
The hard part of this was to make the channels adjustable.......in 2 directions.I tried to make it simple, not wanting a slot in the door where it could be seen.I ended up with a 3 piece bracket set up that gives me front to back adjustment with one bolt and in and out adjustment with the other, and with just a single mount hole in the door.
I needed to make some front window run channels for the doors.I did not get the vent windows with the truck,so Im going to run 1 piece door glass. Instead of scratch building everything,I found a leftover vent window assembly from my '70 chevy pickup.I removed eveything I didn't need so only the run channel was left. I needed about 18" for each run, which worked out nicely being the run channel was 36",so I just cut it in half. Sorry, clicked 2 wrong pictures.
With the raised mount made,I installed the shifter, and boot to see how its going to look.Had to add the shifter knob for the full effect. I think it will be just fine, especially when all the carpet and interior are installed.
