01-04-2010 09:00 PM A little grinding.....
Even though Im not finished,I wanted to clean up what I have done to see how it looks. You can see the filler panel in the 3rd picture I was talking about. The dash blends into the door and tapers down to the window now instead of stopping abruptly at the door. Now I just need to finish it up and fill all the rest of the extra holes........

01-04-2010 08:55 PM More welding...
With everthing fitting like I wanted,I started to weld it up. I did add some extra filler pieces to the front edge of the window opening so the dash blends into the door a little better.

01-04-2010 08:49 PM Fitting the extension....
With the dash closed up,I fit the extension to the door and tacked it into place. I trimmed the excess of the piece that hung out into the window opening.(see entry #120 for that picture). You can also see the gap that will need to be filled between the door and the extension.

Before I can fit the extension to the door,I needed to close up the end of the dashboard.

01-03-2010 06:27 PM Working the glass....
I have decided to take a break from the front end,and turn my attention to the windows.I have a few modifcations to finish before Im ready to have my glass guy come to make the patterns for the windows. I want him to have enough time to do what he needs. I put a 59' chevy dash in the truck a while back.Which led me to modifing the front windshield opening. Now the same dash is going to affect my door glass as well. When I got the dash,I took everything that went with it.Im going to use the filler pieces and mount them to the doors so it has the wrap around effect again. Im also going to eliminate the vent windows, which means I need to remove the small bracket that it set on.(you can see it in the first picture.) Im wanting to get all this welding and cutting done before the glass patterns are made. I also have a number of holes to fill also. The prior owner cut a large square hole for the inside handles he was going to use. Im useing a different style.
