I swapped the hinges/springs side to side and also raised the mount point up on the fire wall. This lets the hood open further and makes room for the m/c assembly on the drivers side.with the hood center removed,I realized that the inner brace would need modified too. So,I cut it apart and rewelded it,so that the hood sides actually were moved in almost 2 " with out pressure on them. The picture shows the difference in the cut side(drivers) and the stock one.The cut side has much more inward angle.

In part 4 I mentioned cutting the center section loose, well I got to that today.I drilled the 6 spot welds attaching the inner brace, and off it came. With it off,I realized I needed to modifiy the actual inner brace.

One of the items Im still working on are the front frame horns.Alot of the cars I have been looking at have frame horns sticking out past the grille.Im just trying to make mine a little more finished looking so they basically look like they belong.

I did the same thing to the other side of the hood.Im pretty happy with the basic results.I am going to have to cut the center panel loose form the inner support due to the fact it twisted when I cut the sides loose,I will be able to center everything back up that way, before I weld everything back up.I needed to start mocking up the radiator mount also, that way I can make sure the hood is exactly where I want it.I figured out the basic headlight location too.

Pulling the sides inward does create some alignment problems that I will have to adrees at some point in the process.....
In the 3rd picture you can see how much narrower the hood is at the lead edge.
