With the sheet metal cleaned and dressed,I sprayed some rattle can metal etch on it to keep it intact until I get to doing the filler work. The etch also lets me see how my progress is going......

Been working on the bed lately, welding up holes, cleaning up the sheet metal. Its amazing how long it takes to "clean"things up as you go along during a build.

08-07-2009 06:38 PM Digging at the hood...
The prior owner told me that there was a good deal of bondo in the hood. That didnt bother me,I was planning on cutting it up any way.The other night I decided to find out how much was actually in it.By the time I was done, the garage looked like a beach! I must have dug at least 2 gallons of mud out of it!I was suprised to find out he had actually welded a 1/4 rod to the center of the hood like he was going to peak it.He apparently had other ideas, because the hood was filled up flush to the rod.He also accented the sides with rod too.

08-07-2009 06:24 PM covering the tail...
Also needed to build a lower tail pan to hide the gas tank from the rear.It will also let me have a place to mount a license plate.I ended up making the tail pan and the side ext. at the same time.
