01-17-2012 04:06 PM started rusty rocker and rear quarter repair
I was a little intimidated by this part, and had been avoiding it

yesterday I cut some of it open to see how bad it was, and.......its not as bad as I thought it would be!

so I looked at it for awhile, trying to figure out how to get it put back together, once I cut it apart?

I decided to start on the rockers today, and here's what I did

1) took some pics and printed them
2) took lots of measurements and wrote them down on the pics
3) start cutting and grinding a little bit at a time, until its all gone
4) start trimming the new piece a little at a time, until it fits

I got a good start on it, and I can see its going to work

still need to make a little piece that will fill in at the bottom of the front door pillar

01-14-2012 08:52 PM front lower coners are mostly done---this was a BIG Milestone for me
I finished the RH lower corner (it matches the LH at 90% done)
cut off the front/outside support bracing
screwed on the firewall after grinding to fit
(which I will weld on after the engine and front susp. etc. have all been test fit)

01-11-2012 08:22 PM RF lower front corner repair panel
panel is cut, fitted, and I started welding it in
some of the original sheetmetal is pretty thin
but I had my heart set, at doing this at the fender body line
so I made a small backer on the inside, to help with welding it in
its kinda cheating, but its not much different than putting a flange on one
and overlapping the two panels, (instead of butt welding the two)
