Of course with a wider fender I needed to widen the mount bracket. The damaged area was right where the bracket mounted.

Of course with a wider fender I needed to widen the mount bracket. The damaged area was right where the bracket mounted. I got a little carried away when I repaired the damage on the inside so I had to grind it down to get the bracket mounted.

When I would wash the truck I always had trouble cleaning the space between the fender and the bed side so I built up the inner edge a little. I applied some of the releasing wax to my desk top and remounted the fender. I placed a piece of ¼” nylon rope in the space to seal between the fender and desk top. I then applied a few layers fiberglass and rosin. After a few days I removed it and started to shape it.

Will that didn’t turn out that bad so here goes nothing. Same steps same desk top just a bigger fender. I started with the left fender as that one had some damage to it already. I also added more material to the inside where the running board attaches to allow for blending into the running board. After doing the inside I flipped it, grounded the out side, and built it up. I finished the repair to the damaged area. When I would wash the truck I always had trouble cleaning the space between the fender and the bed side so I built up the inner edge a little.
