Since I never worked with fiberglass I found a cheap motor cycle fender on eBay to practice with. I started by cutting the fender down the center. I mounted one to an old desk top I had laying around. I then cut some wood spacers and duct taped them in between the two halves. I then waxed some aluminum strips and taped them over the entire length of the fender. I then roughed up the inside and started to lay layers of fiberglass in between the spacers, let setup, removed the spacers and finished by filling in where the spacers were and then applied layers fiberglass to the entire length of the inside each one a little wider then the previous layer. Anyone need a wider MC fender?

The tire, axle, and wheel setup that I choose let the tire hang out past the fender which would not allow me to lower the truck. My answer to this was to widen the fiberglass fenders by 1.

After I got quite a few spot welds and tacked the top edge I installed it for a test fit and to place the angle bracket so that I could weld it in place.

I then drilled some holes to spot weld the side to the pockets and very carefully and slowly started to weld it as to not warp the side.

I then painted the weld able surfaces with weld through primer and some blue paint in the pockets.
