11-20-2012 07:19 PM Cab rebuld cont. Installing steel jams 101
The next thing I discovered was that the wood jam hinges are different. I tried to use the wood jam hinges and when I test fitted the doors and they were rubbing the cab. After sleeping on it I was going to file the holes to allow the hinges to slide outward. The next day I compared the wood jam to the steel jam hinges and guess what they are different. The steel oneís holes are just what I needed to clear the cab.

There are little L shaped brackets welded to the jams. There is a very simmilar bracket rivited to the cab (This is where the wood jams are bolted at the bottom.) I found the existing bracket very much in tact so I removed the bracket from the steel jams.

Every thing braced and cab gutted it is time to pull the cab.
First try engine crane hitting cross brace.
Second try added some plywood to move the lifter higher. Too high need to try again.
Third try cut down the plywood and it fit like a glove, a very tight glove.
