02-09-2014 01:54 PM Bed cont.
I got my bed back from the painter and had my buddy come over to help set it. As you may remember that I had a problem with the license plate sticking out the side and I was catching myself on it. I modified the rear cross sill moved the plate there. I made new tail light brackets to move them in closer to the bed. My painter told me I could save some money if I masked off the Chevrolet on the tailgate. The truth be known I think he just did not want to be bothered. I got some small LED tail lights to install in the upper bed rail. They have both running and turn lights. Red in the back and amber in the front.

I needed a place to mount my electronics for my door locks and poppers. I bent a piece of sheet steel and drilled holes to match the door limiting straps. Then I mounted the controller and relays to that making sure that I had room for the kick plates.

Sorry I have neglecting my duties of updating my Journal. Quite a few weeks ago I got my cab back from my painter. A buddy came over to help my set my cab. I went with a sling inside the cab in stead of my picker, as I did not want to scratch my door jams. It is finely looking like a truck.

12-30-2013 04:33 PM Rear fenders
I was having the same problem with my rear fenders. So I decided to make a fixture hold my rear fenders. I cut a couple of pieces of scrap plywood. I laid out the mount holes and drilled them to fit. I then attached the fenders to the plywood and marked the radius. I then cut the radius by cutting it an 1/8” inside the line. Since the plywood was T111 siding I added some scrap to stiffen the fixture. I then remounted the fenders and mounted it in my jaw horse. My wife thought that I would never use that jaw horse when she bought it. It turns out it is handier than she thought.
