01-29-2017 12:24 PM New cooling fan mounts cont.
I dug out my tube roller that I made a while back. I was wondering if it would handle .373 round bar it worked. So I rolled a couple of 12 inch rings. I then took a scrap piece of flake board and some scrap furring strips then screwed them to form a pattern for the mount. After welding it I added tabs flush to the backside to mount the fan. This allowed room for air to flow.

01-29-2017 12:21 PM New cooling fan mounts
After a bit of conversation on hotrodders.com forum as to the way I had my fans mounted. It made me think as how I could improve my setup. The new radiator is a little bigger than the old one I needed to start from scratch. Rather than have a sheet metal shroud type mount I decided to go with .375 round bar figuring that air would flow around the round bar better.

01-29-2017 12:19 PM Radiator
My radiator was leaking at the seam and upper tank. I took it to a radiator repair shop and found that the old style tanks were not made to take the pressure of modern cooling systems. He built me a new radiator with all new stile equipment. He made and installed his own custom built filler neck. I would give his name but he is retiring soon and mine was one of his last.

01-29-2017 12:14 PM Cab spacers and springs
I have been getting some screeching and rubbing between the cab and frame. I cut some 1/8 inch spacers and placed them between the cab and frame. I also added some springs to allow the cab to move as the frame flexes. I made a guard to prevent the springs from chaffing. By adding more spacers to the rear of the cab I was able to adjust the gap on the hood.

01-29-2017 12:11 PM Parking brake issues
My parking brake handle would not travel enough to apply the brakes. It also kept cutting my handle boot. After closer inspection I found that the pivot point was too low. I had mounted it too low on the bracket. I relocated it up higher on the bracket. It still was too tight for the boot. I got a piece of ź inch aluminum and machined out the bottom to allow the boot to slide within the boot clamp.
