Just when I thought I would be getting to work more on my own 56 Cameo, my son (17 yrs old) gets a gift from his 85 year old Godmother. It is 1941 Oldsmobile Sedanette with an inline 6 flathead. She has owned it since the 50's but it has been parked in a small garage since 1977.
The car is in excellent shape, considering. No major rust, only some surface rust. All body panels are good, and most of the trim is there. The grill is complete except for the piece where the hood latch attaches. She used a rope.
The engine has not yet been tried, as the wires are fried and it is really hard to turn over with a wrench.
My son's plans for it are the following:
350 motor, automatic transmission
air ride suspension
keep the wheels
paint dark blue matte finish
keep seats, with new upholstery.
And if he becomes rich, he would put a blown 455 olds in it.
