We wrote an article exposing a kit-car company called Streetbeasts.

Now, they've tried to silence us with a frivolous lawsuit.

Guess what happens when unethical companies try to bully hotrodders out of their free speech?
Get the details, and see how you can lend a hand.

11-20-2009 03:09 PM 13" Front Brakes
After waiting since August, I finally got the front brake kit from baer. They are 13" aluminum/steel rotors with 6 piston calipers. If you are capable of going fast, then i want to be able to stop fast!

11-16-2009 06:59 AM More console work
This is actually a darn big project. I am hoping for big things, when it's complete. Both functionality and a nice looking console overall.
anyway I am freaking tired ;-)

11-14-2009 07:05 AM More console work
Made some good progress tonight. I have the back half of the console sitting where it needs to. I layed out the plywood front section to blend it's lines nicely with the 05 section.

After brainstorming for a while, I think that I have a good plan for mating the two sections fairly seamlessly.
I roughed out the gauge and switch locations. I have a lot of cool little parts on order which should make it look pretty nice

10-31-2009 02:55 AM Console switches, indicator led's
I picked up some heavy aluminum for the guage faces and main part of the console.

I also picked up some heavy duty switches, which I felt would blend in and look like a 1960's era type panel.
For indicator lights, I picked up some micro LED lights, as indicators. Gives me a visual if the switch is on, but not too obtrusive.

I have a push button start button, but I am not sure that I like it, so cannot say if I will install it, yet.

I am trying to find some switch guards as shown in one of the pics here. I hope that I can find some, or else I will try and make some

10-24-2009 06:59 PM Starting work on a new floor console
After the first go around on the center console, a couple things came up on the "wish list"

Since the car is driven A LOT, cup holders were absolutely necessary, and of course provision for a nice console lid. The other thing, is the console switches were too far away (to reach)

I liked the design of the 05+ mustang console, so I picked one up and cut off the unnecessary front portion.

I removed the parking brake section, and will insert a switch panel. I'll probably locate a NOS switch, or trim plate in the middle section in front of the cup holders.

The biggest challenge will be the transition from the orginal console to my own sections, to make it seamless will be a challenge.

It should be fun!
