We wrote an article exposing a kit-car company called Streetbeasts.

Now, they've tried to silence us with a frivolous lawsuit.

Guess what happens when unethical companies try to bully hotrodders out of their free speech?
Get the details, and see how you can lend a hand.

09-13-2007 12:04 AM My 1964 Pontiac "Lucille"
In the late eighties, I bought a 1964 Pontiac Tempest from an old lady who was giving up driving. A few years into my ownership of the Tempest, I hit a deer on my way to work. My insurance company said the car was totaled but I couldn't stand the thought of getting rid of the car. I spent my days off from my regular job hanging around a body shop. In exchange for the information I was learning, I cleaned the shop, dumped the trash and did odd jobs without pay. After more than a year of spending two days a week learning what it was that I needed to do, I repaired and painted my Pontiac.
I drove my Tempest for twelve years and it never left me stranded anywhere but time took it's toll on my "Lucille" rust spread and the windshield cracked. I took Lucille off the road to make more repairs. Things don't always work out like you plan and as a result I had to part with my Lucille. I still miss that car after four years. I know that I can do any body work that needs to be done to this 1951 F1 but the engine work is another thing entirely. I would appreciate any help with this project. I can do bodywork but I am by no means an expert so help and suggestions in this area are welcomed to.

09-12-2007 11:41 PM plans
What I hope to do, if possible, is to rebuild the 302 small block, repair and paint the body of the 51 and work the engine and body onto the F-150 chassis. From my measurements the F-150 chassis is about twenty inches longer, I hope to add a section between the cab and the bed for a gas tank. As I have said before, this will be a daily driver, I have no intention of putting it in any shows and I have no plans of customizing the body in any noticeable way. I am however willing to make any changes in order to have the 51 body fit on the 77 chassis.

Here is a photo of the donor truck I bought for $850.00. it has a six cylinder. The 51 came with a 302 from a 68 Fairlane (shown), I hope to use the 302 in my build

09-12-2007 11:24 PM 1951 project
I recently bought this 1951 ford F1, it's a project for me, something to keep me busy. I hope to make it a daily driver. I'm not planning on doing anything fancy with it because it will be a work truck.
