Post junkyard posi

I have a 74 nova with a 10 bolt 2.73 open diff and I want to put in 3.73 gears and a posi. Could I get just the posi unit out of a junkyard 10 bolt? Thanks

Sorry about the PM, I havent checked them in a while. I havent done anything yet, I think I am going to work on the rear end first, I looked at the prices on a new posi, I cant get one under 400 dollars new, can I? I figured I could save a bunch of money if I got a used one. thanks

See if you can find a Trans Am (mid to late 70's) in the junkyard. They will have 8.5" eaton posi rears. Probably 3.08 gears. Add new bearings and gears and go...
