JunkYard TBI
Ok I have some questions about TBI. What I would like to know is what specifically would be needed for a swap. From what I have found out is the intake, heads are different for a small block Chevy. But that depends on the year of the motor. So I would need those. A Computer , wiring harness. What I don't know is about sensors like knock sensors, water temp sensor, and map sensor. Is there any other sensors that I would need to make the swap?
I would like to know anything else because it's one of those all you can carry sale so I would like to know about anything and everything. Right now all I have on my list is -heads -intake -throttle body -all wiring that I can get - computer -??? Also what type of cfm do these things flow? I know they are different for the different size motor. Any help with this would be appreciated John |
Don't piece meal it. You will always doubt something. Find a motor/vehicle that has all the parts and take them. It will be cheaper and you avoid the little things nobody knows about.
For example there are 2 different distributor housings both look the same but they are different and should be kept with the intake manifold they were made for. You may be making this way more difficult than it is worth. Really get all the parts from one vehicle. They are not that hard or expensive to find. IMHO. For all the parts you need look at aftermarket kits and see what they include some tell you the part numbers. Better yet find the schematics they are on the web and check them out. You will be resorting to the schematics often. Are you going to run a 700r4. Find a stock harness if so. Good luck! |
