Just checking in...

Hey everyone. I lost my home phone due to one of the kids making a couple long-distance calls to NZ, and thus have no home internet, I'm typing this at the local library. Just a quick update on me, all is well.

Project wise, I have a new toy to play with, a freebie '79 Chevy 2WD pickup, the guy I'm working for gave it to me with the understanding that he keeps the motor for his 4WD plowtruck. As usual, I have already modified it for a 500 Caddy motor/trans. The cool part is that due to a lack of rear-sump pans in my area, I have decided to recess the motor halfway under the dash (the truck cab has enough rust in the floor/rockers that I don't feel bad hacking it up in the firewall... 8^D)

I have already lowered it some with cut coils/flip kit in the rear, cut about 2 feet out of the middle of the frame to shorten it to Blazer wheelbase, my plans are for a really short stepside pickup (5 foot box I will fab up later on), and true to my nic it will be severely chopped. How's 9" sound for starters? I'm keeping the stock rear slider window, so in back the chop is under the glass and involves just sheetmetal. The lower windshield channel was rotting in the lower corners, and since I have to make up a lower glass seam, I'm sinking the glass into the cowl the full 9 inches, with recessed wipers to come later.

Finish paint on the Kawie chopper is done, I'll have to get some pics to my bud Mikey and have him upload them to my Starphoto pic site in the next few days. The 'sledd is going to be going over to work in the next few weeks also, for finish body and paint work, my boss just bought out a local parts store's paint inventory dirt cheap, I have the materials to do about 20 cars...

Sorry it's been so long since anyone's heard from me, I have been really busy on the truck whenever I finish on the customer vehicles. I'll try to do better on keeping updated in the future...

Dr, Don't let the kids get hold of the library card. Great hearing about the fun your having.

9" chop? Thats going to look radical.

Looking forward to the pics.

I can get you hooked up with a 3/4 sump and tube.
I have a front sump without the tube.
And I have only seen the full rear sump on the net.
