I was looking for a "how to" for flamethrowers, on Google, and a posting from here came up. I almost left, after my first posting. I commented on the beauty of the Aztec, and somebody came back at me *****in cuz I wasn't in the dump with my stupid, derogatory post. I wish I could remember who that was now.

You want to know the truth?

I found this site after getting banned from this <a href="http://www.aaca.org/ubbthreads/ubbthreads.php?Cat=" target="_blank">website</a>!

Yep that's right! The boys over there didn't like the fact that I liked rods as well as restored vehicles. I used to be a regular on that forum until a certain Howard Scotland (aka...HVS) thought he could write derogatory posts and then delete them after a period of time so it appeared he had done nothing wrong (Howard was once their club president). The webmaster over there is his best buddy so he protected him by deleting any evidence and then the typical gang-up would occur from the regulars since my posting would remain. Some of these posts were aimed at my parents and their cultural heritage, as you can imagine I didn't take to kindly to that. Since anonymous posting was allowed many regulars took to posting under alias and it got pretty nasty, apparently there are still people on that site that hate the AACA so much that they still harass the regulars. It's not me because they banned my IP...nice hey.

In the end I forced the banning to make a point by calling him "Triple K" (he loves Krispy Kremes), I then contacted all the web rating resources on the net so that nobody else would ever think that was a G or even PG rated site. At the time I was seriously considering buying a Model T or other "Antique" to restore but now I realize I want nothing to do with a white boys only fraternity that thinks that hotrodders are the enemy and has insulated itself so much from the real world that they think immigrants are the root of all evil.

I am glad I seen the light before I got too committed, besides a "T" or "A" with a big block would be so much more fun anyway. In one thread the argument over what constituted "hotrodding" a vehicle became so heated that I was called a traitor? I pointed out that according to the dictionary "hotrodding" was the modification for the purpose of increased durability or speed, I mentioned that adding even synthetic oil or running radial tires could be considered "rodding" by that definition. I was branded a heretic by some of them as a result. In the end it got so ridiculous that I couldn't care less about the club or the website and just wanted out.

See Dave! and you thought you were the only stinker around here! :p Go over there and have a look, they have since made the site members only and now only the regulars post. I used the same name so you could still find a fraction of my posts still in the archives, many of the threads I participated in were deleted. Some of my early posts were under the name "Chuck the Machinist".

One thing I'm not sure everyone here appreciates is the unbiased and just attitude Jon displays on his site, thanks Jon for letting me roost here. ;)

I guess I have always been a Hotrodder at heart. :)

Once upon a time there was a club called RBBO. The creator of that club contracted with Jon about setting up a seperate section on here and that's when I started posting here. I stayed around after RBBO left though.
If you really need to know more about RBBO, just search the threads. Lots of interesting stuff.

A friend of mine sent me some info on a petition to sign concerning Ca. smog laws and older vehicles. Some how or another it led me here, signed up to hotrodders and have been a regular since. I've checked out a few others, none compare to this great site. :D Dan

I didn't find this website it found me. I was cruising the web looking for a website that told about how to build your own street rod on a backyard budget and found Roy's Hotrod Garage, aka RBBO and promptly joined in. All was cool. Then I thought it was Street Rodder's RBBO and that was still cool. Cause I thought I had more of a streetrod then a hotrod. Then before you know it I'm here. Left like a bast**d child. So this site found me and bathed me, clothed me and fead me. Now they can't get rid of me. :D And that is cool. :D

I found this site from doing a google search looking for info on putting a 327 in my nova. I decided to stick around due to the knowledge that is revealed. This is unlike most other boards I have seen where it's a bunch of young people that think they are an automotive god because they have installed a K&N air filter. <img src="graemlins/spank.gif" border="0" alt="[spank]" />

I think it's interesting that people are finding this site, and joining the board, from HK's articles listed on search engines.

A little research:

<a href="http://www.google.com/search?client=googlet&q=painting%20ghost%20flames" target="_blank">Google search for "painting ghost flames"</a> -- HK's article is #1

<a href="http://www.google.com/search?client=googlet&q=shaving%20door%20handles" target="_blank">Google search for "shaving door handles"</a> -- HK's article is #2

Those aren't the only search results with HK's articles -- everything from "customizing tips for cars", to "how to do body filler", "yellowing headlight", and over 200 others.

:D
