Just got back from a scare!

Hey All.
I was at work Wednesday and was eating lunch talking to a couple girls I work with, when I got this deadened feeling in my ears. I put my hand over them and was on the verge of passing out. I guess I instantly turned white as a sheet, then bright red and started to bead sweat.
I went to the hospitol and told the receptionist I was feeling bad and she was chatting with some other girls as she processed me in and took my vitals. When the blood pressure reading came back, she got a wild look and called over the nurse and then dialed a code. I asked what was going on and she Oh, were nothing dear, dont worry.
I knew something was up and I checked the machine for my vitals. My blood pressure was 218 over 108?
They got me right in, got it dwn and started doing tests on me. I had to get a heart catheritazation done yesterday. It showed my heart was good, but I got a slight leak around my valve. Gotta loose some weight.
Anyway, Im home again.Yee Haw! HG

I'm sorry to hear that man, that must have been scary as hell! Lots of people come back from where you are, slim down and live a long, healthy second half to their life. Pick up a copy of body for life by Bill Philips. Its a bit cheesy and preachy, but his diet and exercise plan are killer.

Feel better man, I know how you feel, my family has that kind of history too. Take it seriously and do what you need to do!

Come to HR if you need support with your regiment!

K

Having high blood pressure myself, I know it can be scarry.
The medications that they have vthese days regulate it well and you should be good as long as you get into the habit of taking your pills regularly. I take mine as soon as I get up every morning, it's the 1st thing I do.

I can't see weight being the total factor in high blood pressure... since my doc has told me I've had abnormally high blood pressure and I'm 145 - 150 lbs and 6' tall.

It's really just the diet... I think I should start going to Subway or somethin and stay away from the burgers and fries.

Hemmie,

Hey, April fools day is still a few days away. Take care of yourself.
I've passed out and the docs didn't find anything wrong.

Dang right scary. Your right though, you thinking is now totally different than before. Were in there with you for the long haul!
