Just a Hello from a new visitor.

Name is Richard. I'm involved in the Publishing/Illustration field. I've always been drawing and building stuff and later, model cars. I still own a vast assortment of unbuilt cars. They are just harder for me to be satisfied with for me to call them finished. I'm never quite finished, it seems.

I built a 1927 Hiboy. Finished it in 1990. Open engined, high step-over-body where you have to climb on the rear tires to get in. A Street go kart for two!
Small block V8, inside the frame headers-1931 Model A frame. I had to move the engine back and also notch the frame for the front header tubes on each bank.

I've always liked the 1927 body style, tracker or not. My best friend had all these Hot Rod magazines from the early 60's and custom car magazines. So we pored over them for me to get a good feel for what I was going to build.
I drew the car the way I wanted it to look and stand and over a 10 yr. period got the parts and people to help me with their specific talents.

Over a 36 yr. period I picked up three cars. I still got them, but it's hard to enjoy them when they are spread out in different people's garages. But I keep dreaming of building this wild delivery truck based on a model that I've reworked, sketched and photo shopped for extra realism. My '27 I drew with pencils and ink. I like all things mechanical with an engine. I scrounged up 3 Wheel Horse and 1 giant Bolens tractor and was planning to restore them until we had to downsize our life and scrunch them and us down back into a much smaller home and tiny garage. I'll bounce back! I'll show some picks in the future. Goodbye, I'm going to roam around the website and enjoy the sights.
