just some carb news

I gave my Camaro, it of the 350 w/11" of vacuum, a new carb just to see what would happen. It was running well on a Holley 770 SA with 4.5PV, 74/78 jets. I had added a tapered spacer (Jomar) to the Weiand XCelerator, and the results were good (and the reason for the overjetting).

Decided to try a 650, since the 770 might be overkill, so I got a QuickFuel 650 Hot Rod Series. Good price. Double pumper (the Holley is vacuum). Rejetted to 72/77, installed the 4.5PV. Minor tweaking (as in idle adjustments), runs great! These are the only 2 carbs I've ever had any real luck with on this motor (Carter AFB not bad but not good idle control), so thought I'd pass the info along. I am impressed with the Quick Fuel.
