Exclamation just starting a project

well i am a JR. in high school and i am very much into cars, i have worked mostly with the body and slightly in some engines. what i have really wanted to do was work on a suspension system. and i got my chance, i am workin on a graduation project for high school, and my topic is "how has suspension technology innovated society." and in this project i want to build a custom suspension, or at least a model of one. i may be way over my head but i really want to do this. so if there is anyone who can help in giving me some information on how i could go about doin research on suspention systems and how they have been inovated. and if you have any cool ideas for a suspension system to be build, if you could it would be deaply appriated. thank you and sorry for the spelling

There is also a very good article in the Rod and Custom that I just received this week, I believe it was the January 2004 issue.

Since it's on how suspensions have changed society. I would lean more not on cars but on other things.
Special suspensions were used on buggies to transport nitroglyceren. Changed all construction
Trains didn't break 35 MPH or so reliably untill suspensions were put on them. Changed rail transportation from then on.
I know in the 50's Packards had automaticly leveling suspensions.

There are ton's of ideas just start from one place and follow that line to the end.
