Re: Just Take A Moment
I would like to share with you something that I found when reading my family's history book a few months after 9-11-01
Retire my thoughts no longer stay,
And muse upon life's transient scenes;
Earth's pleasures daily fade away,
Like fancy's visionary dreams;
Bereav'd of what we hold most dear,
Man's lot is subject every day,
Each blossom we would cherish here,
May quickly fade away;
Choice friends are pearls we love to find,
Can friendship satisfy the heart?
Can nature's charms content the mind?
Or true and lasting joys impart?
Alas! Those flow'rs may be destroy'd,
And leave behind an aching void;
Desire is ever on the wing,
In search of happiness below,
And often finds a painful sting,
Where joys sublime was thought to flow;
Desires which form Religion rise,
The hope of bliss divine in heav'n,
Shall raise our hearts above the skies,
When we're by adverse tempests driv'n;
O! The sweet calm when death draws nigh,
Religion casts her soothing light,
Now on the spirits' op'ning eye,
Sheds hues immortal pure and bright.

It's very hard to convey the feelings I have about these attacks. Every time I think of them I honestly cry.......
However one thing is most certain, the acts of bravery, self-lessness, and heroism that awful day will live within me till the day I die.
Thank you for your post Phil, I appreciate you thinking of us on our day of collective mourning........
I just want to say God bless you all, be safe, never forget.
(Sorry about the length of my reply)
