Just taking the time to say...Thanks.

I just wanted to thank our friend Stonedchihuahua and his multiple persona's for signing me up for all the spam mail and the WWF newsletter, your kind words and nonstop "new member" PM's that never get answered have really made me realize how lucky we were to have you as a member at this fine website.

Hope your first day back in elementary school goes well and you get peanut butter and jam sandwiches for lunch instead of liver.

I look back over the last few years and realize that I actually tried to help you with car problems you were having (when no one else would) and the spirited debates we had regarding your paranoid delusions over "Big Brother". What a great guy to have around, I wonder how we ever got along without you.

This has all made me take a long look at what I do here and why I do it. One thing I realized is that it's not very enjoyable any more, thats probably my fault for being so outspoken and spending so much time online answering posts and doing my best at this impossible volunteer job. Taking it so seriously is my fault also, I don't know any other way unfortunately. It is my hope that with my leaving you will reconsider your "bombing" of this site, unlike you Dave I am willing to jump on the grenade if it means a better place for these good folks to share and exchange ideas in.

So without further ado I am hereby relinquishing my title as moderator and my profile name, I won't be posting anymore mainly because I have enough stress in my life without trolls like you adding to it. I plan on spending my time in the garage and with my kids so I can prevent them from turning into people like you. Thats a big enough job for anyone.

To all the great guys and dolls here at HR.com I want to thank you all for your camaraderie and great discussions, I love you all. I will look in from time to time and read the posts but I won't be participating, I've had enough for a lifetime.

Most of all I would like to thank Jon, he supported me during the RBBO thing and gave me an outlet to express my passion for all things that go whir. I wish you best of luck Jon, this is still the best Hotrodding site on the face of the earth...I hope it gets better. Sorry I didn't send anyone a personal e-mail but you know how these things go, I hate long goodbyes.

See ya at the track, I'll be the one kickin your butt a car length ahead.

Sincerely yours, Chuck.

P.S. Please no PM's, I'm not reading them anymore. Sorry.

Sorry to loose you buddy. hopefully after a short period of time you will consider coming back. I for one enjoy reading your posts and have learned a lot from you. There will always be that 10 per cent. Take some time to think about all the people you have helped, even if they didn't say thanks, other people were at least thinking what a good guy you were.
Hope to see you back,
Vern

Chuck, I will not say that you should not leave if that is in fact what you want to do. I would only hope that you will reconsider as I personally feel that you are one of the good folks that make this the quality web sites that it is. I think that you have given lots of good advise to a great number of people on this site. I personally no longer post on those threads that appear trollish, I just post on those that I think I can help on. Hope to see you back.
Earl.

I'm disappointed and saddened by your decision Chuck. Chock up another victory for the filthy, destructive underworld. The rate they are winning victories doesn't give one much hope for the future of humanity.

I will continue to rage against the darkness.

I too am disapointed and saddened by your departure. I enjoyed your posts.

I also understand your displeasure and discomfort that a few can cause on these confusers.

Perhaps you'll realize that 99% of us appreciate your being here and will reconsider.

Good luck and hope to see you back soon.

I will be sorry to see you go. I have learned more from this site in the last year than I did in the previous 10.

ahh, come on man, don't leave.
i hate those little basturds too, but hell they're gone now, and you know when they come back it won't be long before they are gone for good.
i know you don't know me, but i know you from reading your post and it would be a great loss to this site if you leave. you always bring fun to this site as well as good help.
don't leave bro; stick around, you are one of the very few people that i will personally trully miss.
well, hell if you leave i can see others leaving including myself, seeing as there will be no more humor and one less tech.

what it boils down to is, i you leave i leave (like anyone cares)

Thanks guys but I have made my mind up, I have a lot of stress in my life and when the one thing that I look towards to relieve that stress causes me even more, I have to draw a line. Besides my attitude online has changed and I don't like it, in person I am a nice guy...the kind that stays up late helping a friend swap out a motor so he can get a car ready for work or the track the next day. Lately I find that changing because I have become jaded and pessimistic, I want that old guy back and perhaps this can be a step in that direction.

There are many factors involved not just my job here on HR.com, work has taken on a whole new level of commitment with the soon to be announced expansion of my department and my responsibilities have increased 10 fold. This camel can carry only so much and when things going on here spill over into my family and personal life I have to say enough. I hope you guys and girls can respect that. Most of all I want to avoid causing damage to this site and our new members by over scrutinizing every new person who posts for the first time, it's not right and I know it. I wish I could say I will just let it roll off my back but deep down I can't...never could.

I'll be reading and laughing along, just not in person. I think the world has had enough of 4 Jaw Chuck, I'm just going to shut him up for now. He talks to much anyway.

Thanks for the kind words.

This is not good my friend . In the first post that I needed help with my first hot rod, you were the first one to answer me. And you kept up with me so that I would not lose my Spirit, especially when I was the new girl and not used to all the cat calls and mean comments. Well I don't know if I thanked you for that, but that is the 4 Jaw I will remember, and I thank you now.

Everyone here has helped me to get more adept at repair and modification...things I had let go of to not follow until I got older. Now the fire is there again, and you helped me keep it there because I did not think it would be good for me to stay here at HR.com, either.

Well, let me be the first to say that you were right and I was wrong, and sticking around has put me ahead of the "curve" because it would have taken me a lot longer if I didn't look here, ask questions and wait for answers. There would have been so many wasted weekends getting frustrated, and for me that is a terrible waste, when I have all the other demands not related to cars. It would have been easy for me, at that time, to quit and sell my Firebird...but it would have been the wrong thing to do, and I would have been giving up something that brings me a lot of happiness now.

So now I will take your position and say what you said to me. It will be a terrible loss for you to leave. You have a lot to contribute and have helped people you don't even know to stay motivated. When I saw your Avatar, I had no clue what it was or what it meant, but now, I'm looking foward to finding a cheap SHO to fix up. I can't wait to get behind the wheel and those 5 gears. And I never even asked you about your Avatar!

I also know you have a stressful job, and you don't need the stress of being a moderator, I agree. But like the others have said, we are like a family, and it is the strength of that good old American Steel that keeps us that way. You can say goodbye to nut cases like Dave and his other personna's...to that kind, it might be a game, and it might also be the sickness. But you got to remember that you come here not to be the nurse, but the hot rodder. You can't say good bye to that, can you?

I say when you can say good-bye to American Steel, that is when you should say good-bye here. But until then, I'd like to ask you to stay and hang around. Let somebody else moderate. But you, you guard that part of you that makes Chuck who he is. You come in here, relax, have a few laughs, share your knowledge and wisdom, learn new things for yourself, and to hell with anyone who says otherwise. There are scumbuckets everywhere and they will never go away.

Give up on them...the scum...let another stand watch and carry the burden. But don't give up on us, your family. You have lifted us when we needed it. Out of the thousands that are here now, and using this resource, someone else can come in to lend a hand to you and Jon and rake the muck for a while.

Don' t leave us 4 Jaw...we love you.

A man must do what a man must do, And you are the only that can call that shot. Your advice and wit will be missed.

I hope you get every thing going your way. You know and I know that your family and happiness comes first.

Good Luck with your innerself.

Chuck, we are going to miss the precision of the 4 Jaw!!! Your contributions are going to be missed and hope you will come across a post that you can not resist answering down the road.
