Just watched Two-Lane Blacktop

I've heard this was a good movie to watch so I got it and watched it. Overall I really liked it except for the ending, what was that about?

He's drag racing that El Camino SS and it just ends....

Interesting ending I thought, but weird.

It was almost as interesting as the ending to Vanishing Point. I see a trend of weird endings going on with these movies.

Originally, the script called for the 55 to crash. There were actually 3 55's built for the movie. Two of them were the "star" cars that you see in the movie. The other one had steering brakes to be used to control the car into a crash and a full NASCAR style cage. For whatever reason, the director (or studio) decided to have the film "melt" at the end of Two Lane Blacktop. The "star" cars were used to build one good car which was Falfa's 55 in American Graffiti. And the stunt 55 was used for the crash scene in AG.

Not sure when this was posted, but it looks like it still belongs to the original builder and owner, Pete Chapouris.

Dead on Poncho on Vic Morrow.

It was a 34 in 74.
