K-D Valve grinder???

I got this thing from my girlfriends dad and I don't know a whole lot about it. It is a K-D (brand?) valve grinder. It's basically a lathed piece of wood with a suction cup at each end. As far as I can tell, it's used to remove valves from an engine. From what I can see, it looks rather old (my gf's dad said it belonged to his father) and I was wondering if this might be worth anything.

This is what it says on the box:

"K-D VALVE GRINDER

For Model "A" Ford and other cars

MOISTEN SEAT OF VACUUM CUP SLIGHTLY WITH WATER TO INSURE TIGHT GRIP. KEEP SEAT FREE FROM OIL. WASH OCCASIONALLY WITH CLEAN GASOLINE.

The K-D VALVE GRINDER extracts valves from their deepest holes. Even the most inaccessible of a Ford can be reached with this convienient tool. The suction of a vacuum cup can always be depended upon to grip valves tightly until throughly ground. It makes no difference wether the valves are with or without slots or holes. No Springs are required to raise the valves.

No. 505"

If anyone has info or knowledge of this item please let me know. Thanks all.

Tony

That's a valve lapper, used for home-done valve jobs, it's available at autozone, advance auto, pep boys, etc for just a few dollars.
