k frame question

hey guys , i have a problem and need some help . my 73satellite came with a small block (318) and i just purchased a 73 roadrunner that came factory with a small block . the car was raced for the past 18 yrs using a 383 big block . i was looking at both k frames and noticed that the one in the roadrunner had front sway bars and the one in the satellite didnt . i need to know , what r the ways a person can tell which k frame is a small block and which one is a big block ? any measurements or specific markings that will help me to determine what is in the roadrunner ??? any help will be greatly appriciated

There shouldn't be any difference in BB vs. SB B-body K frames between the late 60s and about '74 or so. IIRC. You should double check this.

I think Cobalt is right. I know for sure the difference between the 6 cylinder and the 8 cylinder K frame is the 6 cylinder engine pedestal, next to the steering box is offset towards the center of the K member more so than the 8 cylinder one. Dont recall any difference in the 8 cyl K member.

k frame help

i cant argue either way because i truely dont know , BUT i keep asking myself this question ( if there is no difference , why do they sell conversion mounts to put a 383, 400 or 440 in a car that came with a 318 , 340 or 360 ?) something has to be different other than just the fact that my small block car doesnt have the front sway bar and the other one does. im soooo confused

K frame

I think the only difference is your frame mounts and motor mounts.Their should be holes in the frame to accept both types.
