I don't see that they carry replacement filters for this housing. My thinking in practicality is that they will be easier to clean because it comes apart.
Really, if cleaned carefully the filters themselves I would thing would last a very long time.
I do like the fact that these filters are smaller too. I think that will look better especially since I'm using one on each side.
I also think with a polished stainless acorn nut, that it won't detract from the looks at all.

You could use a "filter sock" over the outside of those filters to keep the inside filter clean longer.

Motorcycle guys have used this type of sock for ages. Here is one example, it would need to be cut down to make several covers from the two large ones.

Update

Thought you guys might be interested in the outcome.
Surprise. The lid does not come off these filters. I have no earthly idea why they have a stud on top.
Anyhow, I cut the studs shorter and put stainless acorn nuts on them (after polishing them). I do like the fact that these filters are smaller than the ones without the studs. Plus, the others have a K&N logo etched into them which doesn't thrill me. I actually think the acorn nuts look kind of cool.

Thanks for the help and suggestions everyone.

Note:
My engine is not done or running yet, so please excuse the messy wires and hoses. They will be straighten up.

It's there to be able to remotely mount the breather to a bracket.

Thanks!

It's painted with Plasti-Kote Rebuilder's Cast Finish rattle can paint (cast gray #285). I then clear coated it with SPI Universal Clear which is a 2 stage urethane. I did a test and it is pretty darn resistant to dot 3 / 4 brake fluid.

That was a smart idea, testing it first. Usually, brake fluid eat's all paint.
Thanks.
