K1500 NV-3500 to NV-4500 swap
My 1995 K1500 has always had some transmission noises and shifting issues since I'v had it, which is common for the NV-3500's. lately it has been jamming out of 3rd both on up shift and down shift, tho I can eventually get it into 3rd. I always browse for a 4500 to swap in knowing eventually it's going to need a trans. Searching car-part.com in a diffrent way than I usually do, found a back woods yard that not only is connected to the service ( which I didn't know ), they have 1 from a '94 K3500. I'v heard the owner is a bit 'off' so I'v never given them much thought, but providing the truck is fairly complete, all the swap peices are likely there.. It is from a diesel truck, but I know that only means there is a dampener on the output shaft.. What all do I need to make it work? I know the crossmembers are diffrent, but coming from a diesel, is there anything that won't be there or wrong for what I need, like a diffrent flywheel, or could the NV-3500 flywheel be resurfaced and work?
