It sounded like the 350 SBC was a CA deal in the ad the OP linked to, unless the ad was wrong or misleading.

The ad said California and high altitude. The car was also made in California and stayed in California in a barn!

I bet not 1% were CA/altitude w/350 SBC. Too bad 'rare' doesn't always equate to 'valuable'. Not that an X-body w/a 350 SBC isn't desirable, mind you.

Regardless if high altitude or CA emissions- the Q-jet's idle circuit will need help if it's original. But you won't know that until you check the carb number.

You can make 350 HP w/a Performer but there's more flexibility in an RPM. Moot point if there's a clearance problem, but I seriously doubt there going to be any problems w/an X-body SBC/RPM combo.
