Keep and rebuild flat tappet 350, or try and get roller cam 350?
I am finally pulling my motor and in my research (on this forum and others), I see that roller outdoes flat tappet. My question is.....is it a big enough difference to SELL my current 350, look for and buy a roller 350?
I should be putting Vortec heads, or aftermarkets on with a RPM air intake, cam to fit, edelbrock carb....ect
also one more piece of the consideration puzzle, I will be selling the truck its going into. Thanks for your help!
Roller or not.
If you go for a roller motor would the vehicle have a higher resale. I guess it depends who your buyer is and what they expect from the powerplant. Someone who knows the benefits of a roller block would buy it opposed to a flat tappet. If my engine was a roller i dont think my car would be worth much more even if it could sustain higher revs for longer. What sort of buyer would that be..???????More questions than answers. :thumbup:
A Jensen Interceptor that appears every year here for our annual Targa event has a non-roller engine and comes back every year with little more than an oil change .
If you're selling the truck id put as little money as possible into the engine. If you buy your parts new you'll never make your money back.
