Keeping finger prints out of thin headliner
I dont know if its the quality of the headliner material or the glue but I am having problems with finger prints out of the thin headliner materials that are made today, when I started doing this 25 years ago I never had this problem that I can remember. I recovered the headliner board in a POS 98 Mercedes and even left the parts sit and dry over night but ended up getting a bunch of finger prints in the quarters that fought me to go back in,usually they come back out after a little time but the customer does not believe me so does one have to let the parts sit a couple days before installing. I told them they were lucky the main board turned out real nice since the drivers power seat would not work and really had to bend the board to get it out and put back in and came close to calling the glass guy to pull a window which would have taken another day or so to complete,I even had to double layer the board since that thin material would have showed every imperfection on the board. Before they left the customer was kind of complaining that the material was not like original even though she picked it out so I walked away and let the owner deal with her,she brought me a POS fresh from the auction with the front end about ready to fall out to complainingg about a couple finger prints in the quarter.
