Kick down cable?

On my pickup i changed the intake and carb, I have nowhere to mount the kick down cable on the manifold like the old stocker had is there a special kit for this? Its a vortec performer rpm. Also what does the kickdown do? What happens if i dont use it?

You can buy an adjustable bracket for the trhottle cable and kickdown that bolts to the left rear carb stud. You can find them at parts stores. They're cheaper on Ebay, if you're a wily shopper and can wait. I just bought one off Ebay for about $13.00, shipped.

Turbo 350, right? I ran one with the cable disconnected for a while, and had no problems to speak of. Naturally, it would not kick down if I floored it, but you can do that manually if you need to. Mine made the full-throttle-in-drive 2-3 shift noticeable earlier than it did before, but you can manually override that, too. Otherwise, it drove normally, and my trans guy said it wouldn't hurt anything.
