Kick *** songs.....

Joe Satriani's

Ten words

It's so good

Always with me, always with you

The forgotten part two

Anybody else have just instrumental songs that kick ***?

As much as I hate rating individual songs instead of the album as a whole since I feel that the album together should be rated and doesn't feel right when skipped over ( mostly cuz of crappy tracks/fillers ::points at nearly all the mainstream music, aka mtv promoted bands :: ) I will compile a small list ::takes deep breath:: of bands and their songs that no one has any clue who they are

Iron Maiden-Hallowed be Thy Name
Bruce Dickinson-Man of Sorrows(just download this, his vocal performance on this is.. just simply amazing and almost in his 50s with this range and beauty of vocals??!)
Symphony X-The Accolade
Judas Priest-Painkiller
Iced Earth-A Question of Heaven(live=drools)
Blind Guardian-Nightfall in Middle Earth(whole album, it's a story can't split up this masterpiece)
Megadeth-A Tout Le Monde
Metallica-Fade to Black
Queensryche-The Mission
Edguy-Out of Control
Manowar-Battle Hymn
Black Sabbath-Heaven and Hell

As far as just plain kick-arse:
Rammstein "Wollt ihr das bett in flammen sehen"

Guitar work:
Zappa- "Inca Roads" "Muffin Man" and dozens of others especially during the early 80s when Steve Vai was in the band. Having two incredible guitarists together or in counterpoint such as on "Dumb All Over" was unbelievable, especially live.

Robin Trower- "Bridge of Sighs"

Pure instrumental:
A second for SRV- "Little Wing"
Jean-Luc Ponte- "Cosmic Messenger"

I agree that SRVs rendition of Little Wing is awesome.

Hands Across the Sky by Joe Satriani is good too. Good guitar player. Satriani is good driving music.

Have you guys heard of Gary Hoey?

Great, will be checking out some of those listed that I wasn't aware of. Kinda' why I started this thread, to learn some new stuff (new to me anyway) to check out.

Oh, and yes, SRV's version of 'Little wing' is one of my favorites. I also like 'Tin pin alley', a little bit on the low down side of blues, but good listening none the less. 'Chitlins con carne' is a good instrumental by SRV. And let's not forget 'Red house', a great song no matter who it's performed by. Although I have to say Government Mule does the best version I've heard yet aside from Jimmy........

I guess you can't tell I like the Blues..........

The illinois enema bandit is very bluesy
and so is Yo Mama (that is a song)

Never heard of gary hoey
Joe satriani is too noisy for my feeble old mind.

Just picked 4 CDs for the road today, Rammstein, Trapt, Chevelle, Slipknot.

Been sort of a metal head for a while now. (The looks I get at stoplights are priceless, 50 ish, gray beard, long hair, (blond and gray) lots of ink, and listening to loud heavy metal) Driving around with my wife, we look like your grandparents running errands.

Now all you need is the mohawk and scream along with the music and your set

Reminds me of a friend back in high school. The guy lived by that slipknot music. He had a lime green mohawk and dressed in plaid and gothic stuff. He was a site to see, but cool guy though.
Everywhere he drove he would have the stereo system cranked full blast, and at everystoplight or stop sign, He would sit there and "rock out" (bang his head, went nuts, screamed at people, etc.) You should have seen the looks on the people's faces when they would stare at him, and then he would stick his head out the window and scream at them!
Funniest part was, after he did this for awhile, some lady wrote to the local paper complaining about him! Then there was a couple more people who did wrote in after that to. He kept them all on his wall as trophies.

Unfortunately.. yes I thought it'd be more music oriented and was interested what everyone could come up with and crank out buttt as usual, just another reality show.. doesn't mean that this is funny as hell though! Funny how Sebastian always refers to Skid Row even though he's been long gone from that band for.. how many years now?? I was laughing so hard when they were doing the photo shoot and he was just panting at his wife and Tera Patrick. Obviously verrrryyy.. how do we put this lightly.. HOORRRNNYYY

Classic stuff there. Every time I hear that song I think of American Graffiti

Pipeline and Walk, Dont Run are fine pieces as well.
