kickdown cable 700r4

I'm putting a 350 chevy with a 700r4 in a Z-car. My question has to do with the proper method for adjusting the kick-down cable at the throttle. We are using a throttle body.

The TV cable on the 700r4 trans is important...

You want full pull of the cable at wide open throttle. I hope the TBI you are using has the proper geometry for the cable pull.

It is NOT a "kick down" cable, it is a "TV" cable on the 700R4.

The easiest way would be to get engine and trans from the junkyard directly into your truck, without separating them!
Otherwise, go to the junkyard and get the bracket from a truck similar to yours and use all the stock parts onto yours: the stock system seems to be easy to set up, and no is fabrication needed.

depress lock button on the cable housing behind the bracket

pull housing back all the way

let go

now open throttle all the way and it should click once or twice

now its set

done

if it doesnt click at all or clicks a whole bunch of times then something may be wrong with the cable or bracket set up or the cable may be stretched junk or the cable may be off the link in the trans
