kickdown rod or cable?
I have a 72 ford f100 and i restoring it. I had the engine and trans. overhauled and the transmission did not have any kind of kick-down linkage. i have seen use rods for 45 dollars and Locar offers the cables for less. Do I have to search and find the original rod or can I replace it with the newer cable? The engine is a 302 v8 and the tranny is a c4.
Thanks alot Ray Faubion |

Any aftermarket kickdown kit will work, providing the kit is complete.
The Lokar kits work great, come with plenty of adjustment and good instructions. If you use their kit be sure to order the cable bracket for the carb or you will have nowhere to mount the cable on the engine. |

Thanks for the info guys. I was hoping I could use the Lokar cable. Lot easier to find and cost less. Thanks for the infor on full kit and the carb bracket. That was going to be my next question.
