Doe's anyone know FOR SURE if Johnson Controls makes Costco's battery's?

costco batts are almost duplicate of interstate, both made by johnson controls.
the biggest difference between the two is costco give a better warranty and they are cheaper, win-win in my book
i did a fair amount of homework on this quite awhile back

I've bought 2 of them in the past for old tractors...still working. I was pretty sure that Johnson makes them, googled it and found out. Have to go down tomorrow and buy 2 for my '02 F-250 Powerstroke, believe it or not I'm still using the originals but they are very weak....no complaints!!!

Called Ford and they want $140 ea. for 750 CCA's and Costco has 1000 CCA's for $80 with a 3 yr. NON pro-rated return and then pro-rated after that. Pretty good deal me thinks.

Walmart used to do that with their batteries, no questions asked for three years. but lately you always end up paying a little for a new one, no matter how long ago you bought it.

i would rather just not use the warranty and buy a GOOD batt. right off
with my luck, it would leave me stranded somewhere, when it was important for me to go.

On Bass Boat Central they discussed this about Wal Mart's 3 yr. free return policy. Seems the problem was attributed to Fishermen that turned their trolling motor and cranking batts in just before the 3 yr. time frame saying the batts were no good and getting new ones. Wal Mart started checking these units and found they were still in great shape.......so no mas freebies.

They do crap out kinda early, but I carry a booster pack anywhere I go so i don't get stranded 99% of the time.

I would like to drop 190 bucks on an Optima, but i dont have that kind of cash laying around for a battery.

let me change my statement about getting stranded.

Just a heads up......picked up 2 Kirkland batteries today at Costco, they just came off the truck yesterday dated 1-11....1000 CCA @ 32 deg. and 850 CA @ 0 deg....$75 each. Got home, cleaned the terminals and MAN!!! do they kick that 7.3 Powerstroke over, it even sounds different when it cranks. Now if they will just last 9 yrs. like the originals......wishful thinking I know.
