I don't really understand your question, but one little thing.

Small Block = Mouse

Big Block = Rat

Powerhouse and PAW are pretty good places to find complete kits. Let me know if you need me to look at anything from PAW, I have the old PAW mag, but prices should be about the same. HG

come together to help the newbie!

If your pockets are deep enough the possabilities are endless dude. And its still a mouse motor if its a SBC regardless. Rats are BBC period. Now how deep are them pockets newbie?? OH yea, whats this thang going into? There are a lot of older race cars out there waiting for a new home, check out the drag racing sites for a rolling chassis. You did say you were going racing didn't you? Get an enclosed trailer and a 4X4 or diesel to pull your toy. You need to hook up with and engine shop in your area to set up this engine to racing specs, no first time build here. Like I said , I hope you have DEEP pockets man! Now lets go bench racing. Come on guys n gals, lets help this Dude out.

Look here...
http://www.edelbrock.com/automotive/bowtie/bowtie.html
This is a no brainer deal... order all the stuff from Edelbrock. If you need more go with the Victor package. Bigger cam and higher RPM range.

Summit lists a crate SBC that they claim makes 675hp, 685ftlb torque on gas.

Motown block
Motown aluminum heads
Scat 4340 forged steel crank
4340 forged H-beam steel rods
Intake port size 220cc
13.5:1 compression
427cuin
1050cfm Dominator carb

price - $10,495.00

Jegs has a Motown crate motor that makes 465hp
Forged H-beam rods
Scat forged steel crank
Motown 220cc iron heads
9:1 compression
415cuin
Holley 870 carb
2yr, 24,000 mi warranty

Price - $7495.99

That gives you a price range you will be looking at. You could beat those prices a little if you build it yourself. The Summit and Jegs guys would be glad to spec the parts you will need if you want to build it yourself. Suffice it to say that you will be using NO stock parts for your engine.
